My Little Pilgrim

The week before Thanksgiving, Justus had a little program at his preschool. He and his classmates sang a few songs, Ms. Sherrie read the story of "Stone Soup", and we all ate "Stone Soup" together. His teacher, Ms. Jane,t had the boys and girls all dressed up as pilgrims. This is my little pilgrim...Isn't he cute?

I didn't remember the story of "Stone Soup" so I googled it before the play and found that the story is about a soldier that was coming home from the war. He was tired and hungry and approached a village to see if he might find a meal. The village had fallen on hard times so when he knocked on the door, the people said they didn't have anything to eat either. So....he got a pot and some water and put a stone in it in the middle of the village. People would pass by and ask him what he was doing and he would tell them, "making stone soup". He would tell them that it would taste a little better if it had some _____ (carrots, beans, etc) to go in it. The people would run back to their houses and get what little they had. Before long, everyone was pitching in and they had enough soup to feed the whole village.

This is such a good life lesson. Justus had to bring 3 chopped carrots. Each child put their food into the pot and they were able to see how everyone was able to be fed b/c each child brought something/did their part. I loved the little program. The message is so true. We might not think our little bit makes a difference, but it does. If we give/do what we can with what God has entrusted us with, the blessing comes!

Have a blessed weekend.
With Much Love,
