Prior to actually getting accepted by AGCI into the Ethiopian program, we had a little boy name picked out. After seeing him though (via pic) Trevis and I both said, "No, that's not going to be his name." He looks like a strong little boy and has very defined features. We need to give him a name that sounds "strong and masculine". I looked and looked to try to find what his Ethiopian name means, but I couldn't find it (It is not Amharic.) So, I continued looking at baby name sites to look at meaning of all kinds of backgrounds and the way the name sounds with his Ethiopian name. As with our biological kids, there would be names I really loved and Trevis wasn't so fond of and vice versa. A name is very important. I made a list of 10 names that I really liked. I put a star next to the one I loved the most. Then, I emailed them to Trevis. I put them in random order (no star on Trevis' list). He emailed me back and he had chosen the same name!! We talked to the kids and they really liked it as well. So.....we have chosen a biblical name.....Are you ready? It is:
Ta Da! Justus means "Just; Upright; Righteous". I think that suits him fabulously....We will keep his Ethiopian name as a middle name and plan on calling him both names initially. His Ethiopian name is easy to say too, so it has a nice flow to it. So, from now on I'll refer to our new son as Justus.....
Project #2 completed for our little Justus.
Have a great weekend!
