Thankful Thursday

Today, I am choosing to be thankful. After being around, amidst people who are hurting and exhausted or reading friends' blogs that are currently on a missions' trip to Ethiopia ministering to families who live in the city dump....It breaks my heart. They have such a joyful spirit. And I think....boy I'm cranky if I have to wait more than 5 minutes for something.....So focusing on the positive....Here are some things I am thankful for....

My son who just walked in the door and said he'd picked up all the dog poo and was going to help dad mow the yard.

My son's friend Jonathan who just came to spend the last 24 hours with us. He's so good to Spencer...So thankful he's moving back to Tennessee.

My daughter who we just got back from horseback lessons and she had a great lesson and she is excited again about riding. She just poured water to take to Spencer and Trevis.

My husband who gets up at 3:30 a.m. to work on a side job before he leaves at 5:00 a.m. to go to his real job. He is thrilled I am home again and after every meal I cook he says, "Man, this is delicious". The kids are like, "Dad, you say that every time mom cooks." He cooked A LOT this past school year for the kids and I.

My mom who comes every Friday to visit and watches the kids for a few hours if she's not working. She also comes equipped with a weeks worth of Sudokus (sp?) from the week's papers. She always loves us through whatever we do.

My dad who faithfully treats us to Cracker Barrel every Sunday.

My lazy dog Lilly who is laying at my feet right now. She is always happy to see us and she is so loving, even when I'm not.

My daughter's horseback teacher....She is so enthusiastic and passionate about what she does.

My AIR CONDITIONED house.

My pastor who encourages us to get in the word.

The opportunity to read 3 new books this summer...all of which have drawn me closer to God.

The Living God who loves me like crazy, pushes me out of my comfort zone, and has shown me how much He loves the orphans.

Kids I've had in my classes the last 3 years and their families...Running hugs in public do wonders for my heart.

These are things I'm thankful for today!

With much love,
