It's been a whole week since I've posted, but I really like the idea of reviewing the high, low, and lessons learned of each week. It's like a scrapbook of sorts and I'm sure our family will love reflecting on it at the end of the year...I have a couple of highs and lessons this week, so I'm gonna roll with it...
{High}
Trevis and I got to go on a real "date" since Justus came home....We actually went to dinner and a movie (in the reverse order)....Did you know you can see a movie for $5 bux at carmike between 4:00-6:00? What a deal! We went to see "The 5th Quarter". All in all it was a good movie (They could've left a lot of the drinking out but other than that...it was good). My friend Kristi hooked me up with a popcorn bucket to borrow so we only paid $2.50 for more popcorn than we could ever eat. Afterward, we took leftovers to the kids so they'd have some to eat watching Loony Toons....yummy! (Dave Ramsey would be proud haha)
My other high was Spencer's first track meet....It was this past Monday and friends....let me tell you...it was C....O....L.....D!! Track meets are long too and it was Spencer's middle school that was hosting the meet...I was scorekeeper....a little pressure but I think I did ok...
The meet started at 4, but the track events didn't start till about 5:30. I think Spencer ran the mile at about 6:30. He ran his fastest mile. I was proud of him and all the kids b/c they were running around half naked (have you seen cross country uniforms?) in 42 degree weather and were just excited as could be....
{Low}
The WEATHER....quite frankly....I'm tired of the rain and cold!! I know rain is a symbol of blessing and all but my ground is all blessed and I LOVE sunshine and springy weather...Me and 75 degrees are a match made in heaven. {smile}
{Lessons Learned}
Lesson #1:
I finished reading, "One Thousand Gifts" this week....I learned that no matter how hard I try, I cannot change myelf. I have to replace one behavior with another. So....I'm working on replacing grumbling and complaining with thankfulness. I am working my way toward one thousand things I'm thankful for. I don't want to just list things though. I want it to be as my day is happening...how I can see God in the little things....then, I write those things down.
Lesson #2:
Dimples (the kind anywhere except the face) and flab did not come overnight. Neither will it be gone in one week....Jillian Michaels is killing me on this 30 day shred video. I do know that I feel better about myself so I'm challenging myself to exercise at least five days a week for one month and see if I look better and feel better.

Much Love,
We are loving this sun shiny day! I am sure you guys are too.
ReplyDeleteI excited for you that you guys were able to go on a date. I saw the previews for that movie and thought it looked good.
Thanks for linking up. I hope you have a great week.
