Monday!

Monday was a busy, exciting day! The kids went back to school. They had been off all last week for fall break. We had a great week hanging out and painting, but it was time to get back to class. I'm not so sure they thought it was that exciting, but I'm going to tell you, the peace was priceless.....

So....I wasn't expecting any mail b/c it was Columbus Day. However, I opened the front door and VOILA!! There was a box from AGCI, our adoption agency....I opened it up and this was what was inside for "D".

How cute is that?? That was a sweet touch. I think one of the kids just put the teddy bear on "D's" bed. I was all smily headed out to Kirklands to look for a sports ball thing to go on the wall in "D's room". I later decided that I will just paint it on the wall, but while I was there, I decided to head to World Market to see if they had anything....My cell phone was ringing and I looked down. I thought, "oh my goodness, I think that's AGCI". Sure enough! It was "K" our caseworker on the line. She said, "I have good news for you. We have court/travel dates." I was like, "wooooo hooooooooo, seriously? ok....let me find a pen and a place to sit down right in the middle of the store...ok, I'm good." She began to share that our travel date was in December. Trevis would prefer me not put the dates on the blog, but let's just say it's between Thanksgiving, Spencer's birthday,  and Christmas and we'll be back home in plenty of time for Christmas. I was so excited! She said it would be likely that we will return in January to bring him home for good for our 2nd visit. I was on cloud nine. I texted Trevis b/c I had already called him a bunch of times asking all kinds of questions about different things and I said I woudn't bother him at work anymore for the day.;) So, he text me back immediately and it said, "CALL ME!!" I did and shared the news.
Our next step is booking our flights. Let me just tell you friends that December is not a cheap time to fly to Ethiopia. We've come this far and we've got to get to him....To be honest, one agent we spoke to today told me she was having a difficult time finding anything and that what she did find was high...She was going to call back in the morning. I was looking at our other quote/iteneraries from a couple of other agents and felt a sense of urgency to book......The seasons in Ethiopia are opposite from ours, so it will be summer there when we travel. Couple that with it being Christmastime and December (and mission trips)...and apparently Ethiopia is a popular destination.

Well, I had to share the news. I've got a couple of projects going in "D's" room that I will take pictrues of. I will also do a post about "D's" American name we have chosen coming up....Stay tuned!

With Much Love,
