I officially have good news to report!!:) We talked to our dossier coordinator with our agency and she said we were officially on the waitlist on Wednesday. (A dossier is a complete package of official documents that has everything imaginable about your family including your home study that will be sent to the Ethiopian courts. It is how you are matched for your future child. A lot of love, sweat, and tears goes into this thing.) However, we had to wait till Thursday to get our numbers from our Ethiopian coordinator. We will be working with her from here on out I think......
For a GIRL:
For a BOY!
For SIBLINGS:
So Hooray! Hooray for being on the list!! That is a true accomplishment I have decided.....Our case worker did say to hold loosely to the numbers right now until the official update for May comes.
The day we got our numbers, we received an additional email that evening to everyone who has not had their dossier authenticated (that means sent to the Ethiopian government to be translated) that they will need 3 copies of our passport and have them notarized. Thankfully, we ordered our passports in January so hallelujah we do not have to wait on the lovely government to process that document. So, we mailed that priority today. Then, from what I understand, our dossier can be sent to Ethiopia for authentication.
Our next step is to hear from immigration (USCIS) for our appointment to be fingerprinted. This is a separate fingerprinting from our home study (That took a full 8 weeks to come back). We sent our application in 2 months ago, so I'm hoping we will have an appt. soon. The USCIS office gave us a local email to communicate. That is a project for this weekend.
This is becoming more of a reality now. WE ARE SO EXCITED!!! I am looking forward to relaxing soon. We have 18 more school days and I'm teaching my little heart out to them every day until the last day.
It's already May 1st.....I love May! Bring on the sunshine. It's definitely rained enough, so bring on the rainbows!! Have a great weekend.
Thank you for all your prayers and for checking in with us on how it is going. It's a roller coaster ride...
With much love,
oh this is such wonderful news!!!! so happy for you!

Hi Melanie,
ReplyDeleteSo glad you left me a comment. Congrats on your upcoming adoption. How cool!! To answer your question ...Tell me when you figure it out. I hate that I go through peaks and valleys with my walk. He is always the same, it is me. I hate that. Keep in touch.
