Education--Check, check!

Good morning! I have good news to report. I finished the third educational component of our home study. We had to complete a 20 chapter approx. 180 page workbook entitled, "With Eyes Wide Open". This was in addition to the 12 hours online classes and the book our social worker wanted us to read. I definately feel more prepared to adopt internationally and I must say that doing a happy dance was an understatement. I was thrilled!

It's a little challenging juggling it all right now, but God has been good to me. My family has been understanding too, so that is helpful. I'll eventually get the house picked up again, right? So....we are almost finished with our home study. The only thing we lack is our fingerprints back from the FBI. Once those come back, we'll be good to go. Please send up a quick prayer that whoever received our envelope would see a sense of urgency and get those back to us.

Now, we're working on our dossier. Another snow day would be magnificent to be able to run here and there to get documents notarized and certified. That would probably be my biggest challenge now--that is--making it to places to get things done after school with school activities and Natalie's horseback.

We are on our way though....Each step leads us closer to our new little boy/girl/siblings.

Part of our sermon Saturday night was about finishing the race....We are definately running...Slow and steady it seems, but we're working our way toward the finish line.
With much love,

  3. that's so great!! That workbook was such a daunting task to me too! It is a little difficult to get all the paperwork done when you work full time - it took us about 6 weeks ... but SO worth it! :)

  4. Sounds like you're making great progress! I am praying for you :) I think I will do a post about your adoption/flip flops today. I was going to take a picture of me wearing them, but trust me.....no one wants to see my ugly feet! LOL!!! I just wanted to say that we are all loving that scrunchy you made! It's so soft and gentle on our hair and I love how fluffy it is! My girls love it too! If you made just a variety pack of those in different colors, I would buy them! :D

  5. Hi Melanie...I became a follower today so that I can be reminded to pray for you on your adoption journey.

I think it is just so wonderful that God has put these dear children in your hearts...and soon into your family.

My friends Kristin and Amy are in my heart and I pray for them too.

    God bless you!

  6. Yea! I am so happy you finished it! The workbook was a lot of work, but it will be worth it when you get that number and can sit back and relax for awhile :)

  7. Our family is praying daily for you all. Abbie is so excited that Natalie will be a big sister. I am glad things are rolling along for you. It is so cool to see how God is working all the little things out for you. It is going to flurry on Wednesday so maybe we will be delayed on Thursday so you can get those other things done that take so much time. If you need anything that I can do like taking things places just let me know.

We are so happy for you,
    Jenni Latham
