This has been an event-filled week. On Tuesday, the kids had their "well-visit" check-ups so that the dr. could fill out paperwork for our home study. To my surprise, both kids had to have shots....I was not high on the "You're the best mom" list to say the least. Anyway, a trip to Chick-Fil-A for one and Krispy Kreme for the other took care of that. I benefited too so we all ended up a winner. HA!:)
On Tuesday, we had our Orientation call with our agency. Everything went smoothly. She gave us the total that we needed to send in with this batch of paperwork. We are filling out paperwork, having things notarized like crazy, and making copies. The total is our hangup right now...so we are waiting patiently on God. It is an exciting journey when He is in control.
Journey back a month with me to December. Trevis said, "Honey, I think things are moving really quickly and we don't have that much saved up (We just paid off my van and my daughter's spacers in her mouth)....Maybe we should wait to save." I said, "ok". I didn't want a child to be waiting and us be the hold up. The following Friday, a couple of guys Trevis does side work for called out of the blue with a small project. It was a start....Then, on Tuesday I was watching "Wheel of Fortune" with the kids (school was out) and they showed a story of a former contestant using his money he had won and he and his wife adopting from Asia. The next morning, Natalie was flipping through the channels to watch cartoons and one of the morning shows was talking about adoption. The next day was Christmas Eve. Our church, World Outreach, was having a service in our brand new sanctuary. We walked in and could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit. They began playing "Carol of the Bells" on those hugs drums. It was incredible. Pastor Allen began giving his message, "God knows how to get his children home". He was talking about a variety of circumstances with that, but he probably said that at least 5 times during the message. We knew that was a God event.
So....Trevis and I knew that God was telling us to go ahead and proceed--to trust Him. We filled out the application and all the supporting documents and submitted it. I began the home study and talking with the social worker.....The ball is rolling.
Fast-forward to Jan. 2nd. Natalie came out of her church class and said, "Mama, you'll NEVER believe what our lesson was at church tonight!!". I said, "adoption?". She said, "Yes, about how God has adopted us into his family and it is a gift we cannot earn". She proceeded to share more. My heart filled with love and gratitude toward God for speaking to her in such a tangible way.
So, this catches us up for where we are today. We are excited and doing all we can anticipating God will step in and do the "AMAZING!" We are thanking him every step of the way!!
We are so happy that your family is following HIM to your son. We know He will provide every step of the way.
ReplyDeletePlease let me know when you add your fundraising events to your blog. I really want to share that with others.
