Today was Spencer and Natalie's first time ever to....
We met my parents there today after church.....I don't know how the discussion came up at our house as Christmas break was beginning, but we got to talking about waffles...Since our waffle maker never made waffles right (they'd pull apart even when greased...ughhh), it went in the ole trasho. Trevis and I thought our kids MUST experience waffle house. I have so many memories as a kid at waffle house and I always remember liking it, but it was such a small building and people could smoke so you couldn't breathe....Guess what? You can't smoke in public buildings in Tennesse and it's been that way for many years, but I didn't ever think about going back there...All the carcinogens I inhaled there as a youngster must have gone to my brain....
So, we pulled up and went inside...squeaky clean and smoke-free. That's what I'm talking about baby! They only have tables that will seat 4, so we asked the kids if they'd like to sit on the stools at the bar...They thought that was big time.
Our waitress Lauren was super friendly and our food was yummy. The kids thought they were the best waffles ever and it will be hard to convince them ever to go back to Cracker Barrell, b/c there was no wait.....I mean, after all...when your 12 & 9....you've got things to do and places to go.
I thought about going over there and firing up the jukebox, but forgot about it....I'll stock up on quarters for the next time...
Are you hungry now? They've got the best pecan waffles around and they're open 24 hours.....
Happy Eating.
With Much Love,
